Date w/launch time:
Jun 28 2009 - 3:15am
Wind Direction at Launch:
NW
Wind Speed at Launch (km):
10km/h
Duration (total minutes only):
120min
Max Altitude (asl):
1820m
Wind Direction at landing:
NW
Wind Speed at Landing (km/h):
5km/h
Notes:
Launch and landing conditions were typical for Grouse; you had to be on your feet, observant, able to adapt to changing wind directions. But the lapse rate was exceptional and made for spectacular massive thermals and running lapses from Grouse Peak to Crowne. Lots of pilots on the mountain, but much better representation from Seattle than Vancouver.
