Vancouver International Air-Port, B. C.

Please read the email below from Grouse outlining the new launch procedures. I am sure that these procedures will be fine tuned as we adapt to the new conditions on Launch. It would be great if people could post there observations and experiences on the forum so that we can all learn from them.

Please pass along these details to all your pilots. We will also be needing your pilots to sign off on this as they check in at Guest Services.
It is very important that all flights follow this procedure for the safety of the pilots.
Line privileges are in place, but we will work them in slowly so that our guests are not inconvenienced
Lift Operators will not be lifting packs onto the chair, but they must ensure that they are on the chair securely before the carrier leaves the station
The chair must be slowed at both the unload and the load point
When the pilot is ready to fly they must make oral contact with the top station operator by calling out “clear to fly?” Once the Lift Operator has given the okay it will then be the Lift Operators responsibility to watch until the paraglider has cleared the area. If they are to come close to the chair or make contact with the chair it must be immediately stopped. A supervisor or manager must be contacted immediately. The case will then be reviewed. Until a decision has been made the pilot will lose all flying privileges at Grouse Mountain.
